For the GS-5:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as some of the following:
Inputted and audited data processing documents; Checked accounting documents to ensure all payments are received; Reviewed permit updates for payments, errors, and negative cash action; Maintained various project files and records; Drafted written correspondence. OR a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school (120 semester hours). The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR a combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. For the GS-6:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as some of the following:
Followed established controls to ensure that collections are billed, collected, and deposited to the proper accounts; Coordinated financial accounting systems for multiple program areas; Prepared and entered contract data into program databases; Audited financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
